To stay relevant in a quickly changing segment, Toyota is updating its half-ton pickup truck for 2015.
Buyers will no longer be able to buy a V6 engine in the Tundra, making it a V8-only truck. That means the standard engine becomes a 4.6-liter V8 that pumps out 310 hp and 327 lb-ft of torque, while the top-dog 5.7-liter V8 with 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque remains as the most powerful option.

Playing catch up to every other half-ton, Toyota will now offer an integrated trailer brake controller on trucks equipped with the 5.7-liter V8 and optional tow package. Up until now, Tundra owners had to install an aftermarket unit if they wanted a controller for the trailer brakes, though that remains the norm on any Tundra with the 4.6-liter V8.
To round out the upgrades, buyers can now get a spray-in bedliner straight from the factory and a new under seat storage tray on certain double cab models.
Also new for 2015 is the Tundra TRD Pro, an purpose built off-road truck that is meant for desert running. The TRD Pro gets upgraded suspension and style to set it apart from the lineup.
